0 Surface Tension
Mike are talking a snowmobile trailer?Ideally you want the trailer to tilt after you passed the center point. Other wise the sled will slide back down. If it won't stay up in the titled position then some thing has been changed like a slush shield. Use a counter weight sitting on the end of the trailer that will fall of after the sled has been loaded.
0 Mike Stark
yea. im talking about a snowmobile trailer. im thinking that my issue is the custom side rails that are on the trailer. they are removable and are not needed for hauling a snowmobile. might take them off and see if that solves the problem. thanks frank. 0 Jim Almquist
Mike I put on a wood salt shield and that changed my balance point so now I will put the front end of the Otter sled on the back end of the trailer. When my sled reaches the half way point the trailer will lay down and the sled slides back. It is the only way I can load when I am by myself. 0 pisces
I use a chunk of wood, like a bit of 4x4 or a small log. I lift the trailer into tilt from the vehicle end, wedge the wood into the space between the bed and the tongue. Then drive the sleds on. Now the weight of the sleds is holding the trailer in tilt and the wood has usually fallen out on it's own or you remove it and let the trailer go level. (put the pin back in!) Have been doing this for years.
0 chris63
You can purchase a hydraulic ram for your trailer and install it with aluminum rivets or stainless screws.Allot of trailers come with these standard.c63
