No it looks like he cut the horns of the dead buck. You can see the saw mark near his right hand.

The other buck will likely be fine, he let the guys get that close cause he didn't have any other option. He couldn't run away from humans cause he had a 200lb anchor. Nice job and great story!!

Exactly. How could the live buck not let "humans" get that close dragging another dead deer by it's head.

That buck that lived will be fine - they are amazingly tough animals.

i find it interesting the state patrol rolls on scene to something unrelated to their job and gut the deer! i'm a fireman and first responder and you can't get any help from those guys during a traffic accident other than them waveing a flashlight.

Paceman you are correct. nonteepical we called both the state patrol and an CO officer both were in route,the CO was on his way up from Belle Plaine when he was called off. One of the officers stayed in his car and took care of the paperwork while the other offered to help.He helped my buddy start seeing my buddy was a little raw when it came to that.He made the first cuts then my buddy got to get his hands dirty.
