Any one seeing Grouse areas not associated with grous ?

I don't know the northerly range of grous, this year we are seeing grouse on the Canadian boarder in the arrow head. 30 years on fowl lake early August we see grouse now but never before. Any one have similar experience or those that frequent the area on a regular basis have a different out take through the whole year?

I've always seen grouse up in that area. Are they ruffies or spruce grouse. Its possible to get both. Usually the limiting factor is the type of habitat. With the number of large fires in the last couple years I can see how grouse may be expanding into some newer areas.

There have always been both ruffed and spruce grouse up the Gunflint, but Powerstroke is right that the fires may have increased numbers in certain areas.
