2 fishfinders interference ?

Cheers

Question

I am running a 334 Lowrance on the back of my boat and a X85 on the front, each unit works well if it is running by itself but if both are on at the same time I get interference. Any way to get around it ? What if I switch to a Garmin and a Lowrance . Are they compatible ?

What likely is happening is cross talk interferance in the 200 khz range (Wide Angle) they are both running on at the same time .

You can select the 50 khz (Narrow Beam)on the 334 on the dash and leave, the front on 200 khz and it will eliminate the cross talk chatter.

Another method is to alter the ping speed on either unit, this can also alter the cross talk...but not a sure thing.

If it is an electrical interference issue, remove one of the units from the shared power line, run it direct, this will eliminate the problem.

Hope this helps you out.

I will have to check the frequency's on the 2 finders . I tried a x65 along with the 334 and the x65 behaved better than the x85 had but the 334 still was not happy.I think I will rewire them next spring and run them on separate power wires. Thanks for the help

If you are running them both off the same power wire, you're getting electrical interference from the power source, not cross-talk between the transducers. Seperate power wires is the first thing I would try. Good luck getting it figured out.
