SportFishin'
What area are you looking to hunt? It all really depends on the district and what the FWP is managing for as far as deer. I dont know if the drawing stats are out yet for this year. There were a few district that have limited harvest to Bucks only this year due to the harsh winter last year 2009-2010. So the number of deer should get better in years to come.Regards,Chris

SportFishin'
Getting a Antelope tag maybe really difficult for the next few years as the MT herds have seen a bad winter & experienced lots of blue tounge. So the FWP has cut back on the number of tags for Speed Goats over the next few years until thier numbers are back. Antelope this year were slim to none with alot of res. hunters. Muleys have seen the same situation in parts of the state also. The FWP has restricted harvest to Bucks only in some hunting districts. The way it works here in MT is that the state is divided into 7 Regions or Zones. Then these zones are divided into Districts example:502,706,431 and so on the first number always denotes the Region. The state FWP site has a great hunt planner available for you to research areas to hunt. There are deer every where so every part of the state is good. Just depends wether you want to hunt prairie or higher elevation. Word to the wise if hunting higher elevation you should be working out already!!! You must first purchase the required Deer "A" lic. before you can apply for districts that have special permit drawings for buck tags. These permit drawing deadlines are in the spring. you may choose up to three districts for the drawings. The deer A tag enables you to hunt anywhere in the state that does not have a special drawing in most districts this is a either sex tag for muley or whitetail. Hope this helps a little?Chris Buller
