pushbutton
so while i was online looking for a place to bring jr. to pick some pumpkins i learned that many pumpkin pies i have eaten were actually made from variety of butternut squash....seriously!!!!....nothing is sacred any more!...... so when we were there i got a few pie pumpkins as well as this carver....... it will be REAL pumpkin pie this thanksgiving. first step was to cut the pumpkin in half, deseed, oil, place upside down, and bake it at 350 for about an hour till it was soft enough to scrape off with a fork. next blended the pumpkin into a puree. to which added: 3 cups of the puree 1 cup sugar 3 eggs 1 12 oz can evaporated milk 2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp cloves 1 tsp allspice 1 tsp ginger 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt this will be enough for 2 9 inch pies.....bake at 425 for 20 minutes....then turn down to 350 and bake for another 40 minutes or so....depending upon how much water content is in your pumpkin. and here you have a real PUMPKIN pie!
