Free ringtones

Recommended Posts

I hated the free ringtones !

If you have a copy or can get your hands on some Motorola software you can make your own ringtones from your favorite songs. The wife and good friends have there own songs so when the phone is ringing I know right away who is calling. I also think that they are a little louder so you might have to adjust the volume or share your song with everyone around you.

You can make ring tones using a PC or Mac with iTunes. Anyone can download and get iTunes for free and make ring tones. I make all of my iPhone's ring tones from iTunes and they sound IMO better. They also are exactly what I want instead of what you get when purchasing them from iTunes. The audio file you pull your 30-40 seconds ring-tone from need to be a legit, with rights or purchased from iTunes (the only way to get an audio file into iTunes and play it). Basically I makes a AAC (iPhone) or MP3 (Verizon) second copy of the audio file, set the run time of the second file to 30-40 seconds (any longer and my iPhone will not pull it in as a ring tone). Transfer from iTunes to desktop or in another file on your PC's hdd to change the file type to a ring-tone file. Most times you can just rename the file by right clicking and renaming with either .m4r for iPhone or .mid for Verizon. If you can not rename (.mp3's seem to have this), you have to go into into organize, folder & search options, then change over to show hidden folders (I think or to hide hidden folders). For sending to my iPhone I play the copied file back in iTunes, which draws it in as media but ringtone media and sync my iPhone. It shows up on the phone in settings. For Verizon I just send or forward an e-mail to (her number) ###-###-####@vzwpix.com and the file comes in as a test MMS on her phone. She can open the file in text messaging and save into her ring tones.

Its easy, you upload a song, edit the portion you want, and the nice thing I like is you can add a fade to the beginning and end of the song, makes it better in my opinion.

Edit, select make your own ringtone, save to your computer, put it on your sd card and than its on your phone!

Not looking for music ringtones, just some better sounds to use for the ringer.

Was at Wendy's the other day and there is a great sounding tone that goes off once in a while there. The order person didn't have a clue about the sound when I asked what it was though. Would make an awesome ringtone if I could find it.

WIWF, never trusted those download a ring tone or text for tones places. Threw iTunes I have bought for about $3.00 a ringtone .mp3 cd with about 200-300 different ring tones. One of them has diffrent style tones. The other one I purchased has funny ones. Most sites you can preview before you purchase so you could see if the one you want is on their. I bought these and the same as above to get them on my iPhone.

I use the mario bros soundboard (android store) and I know there is other ones out there like that. I really like one of my stock tones for the ringer but for texts and emails I like the 1up sound and the flying sound. IDK, there is like a ton of free soundboards out there to choose from.
