you guys sound like gull lake lake owners that get mad at me for casting into thier lake shore....

Why is that, as far as i know as long as you are in the water you are in public property so really what you just said has nothing to do with this situation!! I can see where the lake shore owner would get upset but that is tough luck cause the water is public!

I was out at a WMA in the waconia are last night just running the dog. there was a farmer sitting up the hill from the parking lot just watching me. I had no intention of crossing his electric barb wire fence, but he procedded to drive to diffrent vantage points to keep his hawk eyes on me.

I wonder if he saw me pick up 5 beer bottels and 3 empty shell boxes and stuff them in my vest?

I will never trample your crops or shoot deer on your property, but have things really goten that bad that if I wanted to run the dog on his feild road that he would be mad?

Its sad really!

I grew up in the woods and people have changed big time.

Seems like your making assumptions about his motive without any knowledge at all. You might be right that he was watching to make sure you stayed off his land but he could have been just curious or watching to see what you flushed during your walk. Maybe he did see you pick up the trash and thought to himself, "What a considerate hunter."

I often sit out on my deck to just enjoy the outdoors, soak up some sun, maybe sip on a bear or smoke a cigar. While out there I don't put a blindfold on and earplugs in so that I don't notice what's going on around me. I take in the sights. Maybe my neighbor is out chopping corn or I'll notice some hunters working the fenceline. If they cross onto my land a little, not a big deal, but I might still watch them. No ill will intended at all. In fact, I'm probably thinking, "Why am I sitting here instead of being out there with them?"

He is just being observant. Being he is right next to the public land. I can promise you people trespass weekly. Specially during hunting season. He also doesn't want people or dogs running a muck in his crops. Specially now when bumping the corn stalks or bean stalks can result in crops falling to the ground.

You also have to think of all the activity that goes on at that land besides hunting. Drinking, Dumping garbage, other illegal activities, ect. I am sure hes had his stuff messed with many times. I do not blame the guy one bit.

How did you know his fence was electric?

i hunt some puplic land in the area and once or twice a hunting season im stoped by the dnr and hes nice but to the point about tresspassing. hes told me many times make sure you know were you are cause if i get a call about tresspassing there getting a ticket. Its got to this point because people just hunt were they please. IF you dont know or not sure then dont go on it until you do pretty simple to me. look at it this way someone tresspasses on your land and gets injured in some way theres a good possiablty your goin to get sued. Or they shoot threw your house or live stock etc ect.

Just my two cents, I was born and raised in North Dakota and it's always been that if it's not posted it's open to the public and if everyone understands that it's not to be abused as in driving across it, not leaving garbage, not hunting it if still has crop to be harvested and many farmers don't hunt their own land. If it's posted permission is still usually granted and some owners just like to know who's on their land or as stated above they have friends, relatives or their own immediate family that hunt it which everyone should be able to relate to and respect that. My family still owns land and it very seldom gets posted if it is posted permission is usually always given and that's one thing in living in Minnesota I miss that, permission should be granted whether it's posted or not.

guess it just ticks me off that so many bad outdoors people have really wrecked it for most of us.

a guy should not have to watch his land like a hawk people should just know better, but we dont live in that society any more...

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
