Dryer STINKS

I live in Truman and after the floods my dryer stinks when you open the door. It works- did a load earlier and it dried the clothes fine, and the smell didn't get into them, but I still want to get rid of the smell. Any suggestions?

I wonder if it would help to get some of those dryer sheets soaked with fabric softener and let it tumble for a while. Only a thought, don't know if it will work for sure though.

Maybe a box of baking soda just sitting in there for a few days?

what does it smell like? how deep was the water? did something float under or behind it? does it smell burnt? is it gas or electric?

go outside when its running- does it smell out there? could be water in the exhaust hose.

The hose was disconnected and didn't see any water run out of it. Smells like rotten water.

You may have some water soaked lint in the space between the drum and the outer shell. If you can remove the back panel you should be able to clean it out.
