Delong Lures "flying witch"

I've got one of these lures new in box, pre-rigged soft plastic segmented eel lure..

It looks kind of gimmick-y, but I suppose every lure has its day.

Has anyone thrown this at all, or (even better) had success catching anything (bass, pike, OR esox) with them?

You said it yourself, seems Gimicky not a fan of them as they have little to no action, but I am no expert

Just another tool in the tool box. Fished them a bit a few years ago, the small one's can twitch pretty good, never had a fish look at one.

when they first came out they were the ticket for muskies on Mille Lacs, unfortunetly for Delong Lure Co. it didn't stick around like the double bladed craze. And yes I have a few but never caught anything on them....yet!

Just a note that the Flying Witch is different than the Kilr Eels. The smaller Kilr Eels don't look too bad in the water when you work them fast and erratic. I've never tried the Flying Witch and don't think it really caught on with many people. I don't think they have as many erratic capabilities as the Eels. But if muskies like licorice, they should catch fish!

I've had quite a bit of action on them. I would probably consider it one of my go-to search baits in my box right now. I mix it up from rhythmic short taps as you would with a walk-the-dog bait to very fast and erratic twitches. Twitching them is what really brings them to life. The key is to really work bait. It's not a lazy man's lure at all, rather one of the more difficult baits to work properly.

thanks guys. I might give this thing a day on the water this fall in pike territory for sure, and I can never throw enough new musky lures to satisfy myself.
