Just got my 2009 buck back.

Nice grey face and didnt have many teeth left. Shot him north of Brainerd on state land. Big woods but he was living in the big swamp-no wheeler can make it back there and I about died getting him out(#225 dressed) but the adreniline helped.Everyone went home early that Sunday because of the rain including the group of 8 that was camping there-called my cousin who does not hunt and he came and helped get him out. Bro and I had the swamp to ourselves and filled all 4 tags the guys camping there stayed close to the trails with wheelers and the trails do not come near the swamp.I got my trophy now I am sticking to younger ones he tasted like SHAT!!

Even without the antlers, a mature buck like that is a true treat to be able to harvest. I hunt just a bit North and East of Merrifield on State Land and am still waiting for my once in a lifetime encounter with the monster out there. He's been tearing huge trees up for two years and I haven't heard anything about someone getting him so there is still hope. Anywho, great buck....
