Round Lake in Hayward WI?

Has anyone ever fished this lake for smallies? Im heading up there next weekend and just wanted to see if anyone had any advice.

Have never personally fished it, but a good friend of mine has a place in Hayward and fishes it often. I'll ask him for some advise for late summer patterns and places to try. Would love some advise on Mille Lacs in my north side smallie thread if you know of any. You can contact me directly at [email protected]. I'll give him a call tomorrow and let you know what I hear.

Didn't talk to him live, but he left a quick message for me. I know its a really clear lake, so I know he's said he does better early and late in the day. He told me he doesn't fish it much mid-summer, but its a great early spring and fall lake. I guess late August is getting close to fall so hopefully you'll get into them. He said he mainly fishes the bay that Famous Dave's is in (called Squaw Bay) and Hinton Bay (NW side). Couple of really defined points with easy access to deep water. He also said he'll drop shot some extended main lake points, but again, I assume thats early spring/fall.

Looking at a map, it actually doesn't look like a terribly difficult lake. He shown my some pics of some dandies out of there, so like I said, hope you find 'em. Report back, would love to see some pics.

Thanks for the info...i appreciate it. we will have a couple of boats up there so hopefully we can find them.
