New Mille Lacs Perm Build!!

I am in the process of planning and beginning the build of a new 10x20 permanent.

I have the White Oak skids, buying the windows,etc..

I am planning to use vinyl siding but for weight considerations,what do you all recommend as sheathing? Should i just use a 1/4 inch plywood and wrap with Tyvek before siding?

What is the norm on these?

I never use any sheeting on the outside of my 6x14. I put the vinyl siding right over the studs but I used metal banding straps and ran them at a 45 from one upper corner to the bottom middle of outside wall so like a big V. I did this for racking strength. I also used liquid nails on my inside paneling to make it very ridged.

I have seen manufactured fish houses built this way and mine has held up to 65mph highway driving since 2004 without any issues, saves a lot of weight.

I have a wheel house, I built the walls out of 2*3, stapled and glued paneling on the inside with pl 400 and sided the house on the outside with aluminum camper siding. No sheating. I did tyvek it. and ran the rubber roof over the top of it. Window tape and caulk around all the openings.

I also sprayfoamed which added A TON of strength, but I did pull it down the road at 60 MPH Before it was sided.

I dont think you need sheathing.
