See coach........You argue to the death about the value of Joe Mauer who will make 23 mil next year but you can't see the value of a great defensive player making 1/5th that amount?

You are right Dave... I do argue to death about the value of Mauer, but my point is as a business asset he is definitely worth the $$$ and is probably underpaid. However, in regards to Punto as a business asset, he is overpaid. I like Punto. He has his place on the team, but using the same avenue to argue his value is apples to oranges.

I don't derive money from the Twins so I could care less about any players worth as a "business asset" I am just a fan so all I care about is what a player is worth to the team in wins and losses.

Punto is still just as valuable to this team or any other, it takes more than 9 guys to field a baseball team. No team would ever get very far without good bench players.

If you all you care about is what a player is worth to the team is wins and losses, why do you keep bringing up Mauer's future 23 million per year contract???? Like you said, the only thing you care about is the wins and losses..... the money shouldn't matter!!
