schmoe147
I'm wondering how all the areas around itasca #287 are Lottery but the park itself is still intensive, makes no sense. Thinking they must have made a mistake ??? At least I hope so otherwise.....Enough said.
Black Bear
Absolutely NO mistake because the only time you hunt in Itasca SP/287 is during the firearms ZONE 2 deer season and I think muzzleloader. NO early season---no archery season and remember the antler point restrictions inside the park. I believe that is why it is still intensive. winterwalleye
Is there that many deer that you can shoot 5 deer in park ? Maybe I should start to hunt there if there's that many .
Jameson
Harvest rates in Intensive areas are not astronomically higher than harvest rates in Lottery areas. Add in that the park has less open days of deer hunting, and APR's and the harvest rates for the park are likely close to that of Lottery areas. HERE is an old thread where lc gives us an estimate of harvest rates.
