What knot should a person use for Fireline to Leadcore?

I am looking for the best knot to use with 12-lb-fireline/18-lb-leadcore. I tried the Surgeons and the Albright knot but when testing the knot strength the fire line seems to cut the braid/leadcore and does not hold up. I did peeled back the braid and removed the lead with same results. Was wondering what others use for knots

Thanks

I've used the Willis Knot and have had success. If you do an internet search for it, you'll find some nice tutorials on it.

It's a little easier with mono, but possible with fireline.

Good luck!

I've had LOTS of issues tying ANY material directly to fireline.. it just seems to cut. I have tried about 4 different line-to-line knots and even had fireline cut through 100lb mono.

*sigh*

I like fireline, but I've given up and have zero confidence in tying a leader to it directly.

I strictly use soft braided lines like power pro and spider wire now.

If it were to mono I have always used a Uni to Uni knot and found that to work really well. It takes a little practice but I have never had it fail when tied properly.

That Willis knot seems like the trick. Gotta love YouTube for learning stuff like that!
