New reel help

Hey yall

My spinning reel broke recently on a trip to the cannon river. Im on the market for a new spinning reel now. I am looking for the best available reel out there for under $35. any input would help. thanks

for under that price, just go to the store and get the one with the best line roller, use your finger and check how easily the roller turns. this is my number one on cheap reels. good luck and big fish.

Best reel at that price in my opinion is the Okuma Avenger series. Try the AV15 or AV20. Great reels for the price. I have several.

i'd suggest one of the new shimano line of reels... i have 3 of them right now, and they are all are around 30-50 bucks depending on the size of reel you get. very high quality reels for the price too

I know you said $35, but if you're willing to go $20 or so more I'd highly recommend the Pflueger President. Best reel for the price in my opinion.

I agree, if you can manage $60 you will get a lot better reel.

Agree +1 on the Pflueger. Have Shimano Symetre's to but really like the Pflueger. Nothing wrong with either choice.

Gotta agree with the pflueger reels as well. I was always a big shimano fan (still think they are good) but the pflueger's are awesome reels. Very smooth and well balanced in my opinion. WELL worth the money. I have probably 5 or 6 pfluegers now and use those exclusively. I borrow out the other ones when I take rookies out with me.
