roadkingclasic56
Nice job on the wrapper! Looks Great! Nice job on the butt wrap also! I built my own wrapper years ago that is similar to yours. You have a few ideas there I may have to incorporate. I also was given an old electric sewing machine. I was thinking of taking it apart and using the motor and whatever apparatus from its insides, and the variable speed pedal to make my own power wrapper. I enjoy making my own rigs as much as I like making my own rods.On the right side of the wrapper there are 4 pegs. Can I ask what those pegs are for? rushing
Thanks Road! I mostly build on 7ft plus one piece blanks so a few feet of the butt end hang off the side when working towards the tip of the rod and adjustable ties hold the blank firm in the wrapper. Rodbldr4fun
Nice work. I like the ties idea. I end up sticking my butts on extra V holders on a stool with shims to make it level. The hardest part for me is the tip when you don't have support at the end. I generally put some weight on the other side of the holder (string attached to the weight). Do the pegs work well in this situation?
rushing
I also use an extra v holder to support the butt when it sticks out too far. The pegs have made doing the tip a lot easier since the tip doesn't bend as much when you have it strapped down on the backside of the "V". I have always did the strap down with ties but I used to run them under the whole wrapper. One of the reasons I needed to make a new one.
