15 hp 4stroke vs 25 2stroke

Thinking of sellimg my 25yamaha 2 stroke, and replacing w/ 4stroke15. It will be on a 14 ft. jon. I know the upside, but how much speed will I loose. I know it will be some, just don't want it to be rediculous. Thanks

No way I'd make that trade. You're talking about half the speed and MAYBE the same fuel mileage, at best.

I think you will kick yourself in the behind for going smaller. Once you get 2 guys and all there gear in the boat I think you will seriously regret going smaller. I have a 60hp 4 stroke right now and my old 50hp 2 stroke had a much better holeshot but the 4 has better top speed and a lot less noise. If it was a choice between a 25hp 2 or 4 stroke then I would say go for the 4 stroke. Bigger is better as long as it trolls down slow enough and even that can be changed by dragging a bucket
