HDS software updates

I was just bragging up my HDS5 and someone mentioned product updates. I had just updated mine before I put the boat in and now I see an update that is dated May 10. Anyone have any idea how important that is? It was a PITA to get the update downloaded onto a card since I have a slow connection and had to go to a couple places to get the last one. What will I miss or what boogers will come to the surface if I pass on this May 10 version?

I would just take the unit to a Gander in your area. They should have all the complete updates saved on a SD card. You should be in and out in under 10 minutes.

From what I read up on the update, it doesn't appear to be anything all that important pertaining to how I am going to set up my units.

The updates have improved the gps performance and sped up the display.
