cable railing

Yeah or eye bolts to tighten and maintain the tension over the years.

Are you planning on purchasing a system or making your own?

If you get a kit everything you need will be there.

If your making your own then I'd imagine it is much like and traditional railing with posts and top and bottom rail.

We put up a cable railing two summers ago. We used the cable that has the plastic sleeve over it. We used long eye hooks that bolted through the 4x4's we had on the corners of the deck. we used fender washers to keep the bolt from pulling through the posts. Hooked to the bolts were turnbuckles so we could tighten the cable if it began to sag for any reason. We could get the sleeved cable that was the correct diameter to take one end out of the turnbuckle and then crimp the cable into the turnbuckle.

I am not completely sure on longevity of the railing tightness doing it this way (I dont work with that employer any more), but the railing looked very nice when we were done.
