.45-70 H&R Handi Rifle

Considering buying one for a bear gun/ brush gun. Does anyone have any experience with them in 45/70? I am curious about accuracy out to 100 yards, which is the absolute maximum I would shoot. Thanks.

.45-70 is the original long range cartridge, 100 yards is no problem at all for it. The Handi Rifle is a nice little piece, but you may find you get what you pay for too, they can be hit or miss, but far and away most give no problem at all, if they were turning out a bad product they wouldn't still be in business selling them by the truckload.

I think a rifle that light in 45-70 is going to THUMP you harder than you think! A nice cartridge for heavy cover within a hundred yards though. There are better things for bear.
