So, I ended up picking up an autopilot. I switched out the receptacle on my old one and put it on the autopilot, hooked up my two 12v batteries in a series and I have power and it all worked!!
So...heres my question. I have a 2 bank on board charger. Only one of the banks is going to the bow where the trolling motor batteries are. In the past this was all I needed as i just had the one trolling motor battery there. Now I have 2 batteries up front.
If my troller motor leads (positive and minus) are hooked up to my 2 batteries and they are in a series - and I also hook up my charger to the same exact area - will my one bank charge both batteries???
I know i am getting power from both -as they are hooked up in series - but will I be able to also charge them both at the same time with just one of the banks from the charger...or would I still need 2 banks...one on each battery?
Hope that makes sense - and thanks for the advice!
