Tire Question Bridgstone Dueler Revo??

Recommended Posts

Ok fellas, time for new tires on the truck here is what I am looking at...

2003 Chevrolet Silverado extended cab half ton 4x4 5.3 litre.

I have a fiberglass topper and pull a 18 foot Lund Pro V with a 175 Optimax (pretty heavy) Majority of my driving is highway, a little off road at work (construction)and hunting, I do ice fish and pull the boat quite a bit.....

I have only ever purchased Bridgstone Duelers a/ts and gotten 70,000 miles out of each set, I am currently at 142,000 and scheduled to go in tomorrow and get a new set of Duelers. Last time I got tires at 70,000 miles I went up from stock to load range c and I have been happy. Not sure how much or if at all I need the extra weight range but I did it anyway and it made me feel better. So I can go with what I know or I might possibly jump up to the new Bridgstone Dueler at Revo 2's. More agressive tread, only problem is that they only come in stock or load range E which is way overkill for a half ton truck.

Anybody tried the newer Revos and have luck or should I stick with what I know???

Thanks

I have been very happy with everything except treadwear on my Revo's.

I probably won't buy them again because for the price I think I should have gotten a lot more miles out of them. I don't have the exact number, but I think it's around 40-50k

Another vote just the same.

When they were new that were awesome but they seem to really wear out fast. I got about 35k out of mine and i was already thinking about replacing them(I got a new truck so I didn't have too). Granted that was with ALOT of off road use, but my bfg a/t's and cooper s/t's have been much better for tread life.

I've had nothing but good things to say of my Revo's. Mine have about 65k of mostly highspeed highway miles and still have 3/8" of tread on them. I'd get them again.

Definitely better than the stock Generals that came with the truck and only lasted 40k.

put an oversized set of Revo's on my Dakota. Ran over 50k on them before i changed(would have ran longer if it wasn't ice fishing season). Rotated about every 10k and wear pattern was pretty decent. I thought they were great tires and will definitely put them on my next ride. I work as a contractor and when i got them changed i had nails punched in 3 tires and one tire had 2 nails. none leaked at all, did have nitrogen in them

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
