Adjusting steering tension

I've got a Lund Pro V with cable steering that is getting a bit to easy to turn. How does a guy adjust the tension so I have to put a little more effort into it? I believe it's a teleflex system.

I'm fairly certain there is no way to increase tension on a steering system. You didnt mention what brand engine you have. I have seen after market tensioners that will go over the steering cable where it comes out of the tube on the engine. That might be worth looking into, but like I said, you wont find anything for tension in the cable system itself, rotary or rack.

Not a big motor, just a 1996 115 Johnson. You are right, I was looking for a easy fix since if this winter goes good the boat will probably be replaced with a 2009 621/F250B combo. Come on good winter! wink
