Rattle traps for walleyes

Recommended Posts

im planning on hitting harriet from shore sometime this weekend at night, don't plan on having any livebait with. I have caught eyes on rattletraps up in Canada but you can just about catch anything up there. Would these( or any other cranks) work from shore? planning on fishing in the main beach/sailboat area. Thanks

fishing from a dock last night in 2 to 7 ft of water caught 2 big pigs(5+) and lost at least a 7lber using a 4 inch gulp minnow and #8 husky jerk. fish were caught off both lures, i really dont think it matters a whole lot what you are using as long as it mimics a minnow. cant beat spring and fall shore fishing!

Rattle Traps tend to work best a faster retrieves especially when fish relatively shallow. Cretainly try them but the water temps may still be a bit cold for them to be the most effective option. Pushbutton's lure selective is probably a better choice. Both cast well and the husky jerk will suspend and works well on a pull pasue retrieve.
