reel needs a rod

have a new pflueger arbor 7430 and by the way pflueger did it again, this thing is awsome, top shelf,smooth long casting exellant drag xtra spool ah h-ll its a pflueger what else can ya say!! any way it needs a new rod, been thinkin of just getting another st.croix premier this one a 66 ml/f the one i got for my supreme xt is a 7' m/f its nice. just thought id see if anyone had any other suggestions thanks walleyejgr

I'm in the opposite boat, just got a new rod and have been eyeing the 7430 to go on it.. The 6'6" mlf is a good choice, I got a 6'9" mlxf for pitching with braid.

I also have an Arbor. Besides the great drag and smoothness, look at how the line has less coils to it because of the large spool. Love it!

I matched it with St. Croix LE7MLF. Awesome for draggin' and rigging.

Hi walleyejgr, That sounds like a nice set up for the new reel. I've always preferred the medium action over the ML. But many anglers prefer the ML for rigging or pitching small jigs. For $99 I recommend you look at the Gander new Ultimate Titanium rods in that action....very light and strong and a gorgeous rod to boot. Well forth a look.
