Carb Cleaning?

Yellow Dog

Question

My Merc 90 hp 2 stroke is acting like the carbs are in need of cleaning...chugging, not exactly purring like a kitten.

It's been 4 years since they were cleaned.

Is there a reference guide or some directions on how to do it yourself? $250 seems like a lot of money to pay.

OR maybe I'll be messin' where I shouldn't since I am not a mechanic.

??

If you have the manual for the motor it will outline how to do it. The kits are pretty easy to install. I did the 3 on my Evinrude in a couple hours. Take the carb off, disassemble, remove old junk parts, clean er up and reassemble. Put the carbs back on and you are done.
