how good reliable are the 04 evinrude mtrs? Someone said there ticking timebombs.

mines on a 21 ft glass boat i can troll foward pulling cranks glass flat at 2.5

And back troll with very little chop

I believe the problems where just on the 200-225 and 250 HP models. Everybody knows about the problems with the injectors and the lower unit problems they had, but if you are interested in one of these, take the VIN number to a ETEC dealer and see what updates have been done.

They sold a ton of these motors and they still do sell a ton of the big HP motors.

I have a 115 Etec. Best motor there is in my opinion. Never have had one single problem EVER.

ford/chevy... vexilar/marcum/humminbird... evinrude/suzuki/yamaha/merc/etc.... everybody is gonna swear by whatever they have. thats just the way we are

warrenty is just paper but when it comes to repairing a 10-12k motor
