Kawishiwi Lodge and Lake One

Has anybody been camping and fishing up at Lake One? Thinking about renting some cabins from Kawishiwi Lodge in July seem there are plenty of openings.

How is the fishing up there?

What are you fishing for? Fishing is generally good in the BWCAW. It's a beautiful spot paddle 15 minutes and your in the middle of nowhere.

Lake One can be good for Bluegill, Northern, Walleye, Smallmouth. In that order for myself. Your skill level may be higher!

Last year I watched a group of otters hunt off a main point a mile into Lake One. They were having luck.

Bring a compass and a map!! There are lots of islands and narrow channels.

Wish I had my canoe back, it was called the green monster, but it still done a good job. It was an 18ft Old Town Discovery, someone said it weight between 89 and 94lbs. The portages really worked you, but what a why to lose weight, besides eating alot of fish cooked on a cookie sheet covered with alum. foil and just enough oil for fish not to stick.
