Problem with laptop touchpad

Recommended Posts

My sort of new Toshiba laptop bought last summer is experiencing a problem. The curser keeps freezing up and I have to re-boot the computer sometimes multiple times to get it to start working again. It is very annoying and I don't have a USB mouse to try to see if that makes it work. Anyone have any solutions?

Is the computer freezing up, or just the cursor? If it is just the cursor, I would got to toshiba's site and download the drivers for the mouse pad. I have seen the windows drivers mess up laptop touch pads in the pasts.

If the PC is freezing up a good virus and malware scan would be a good place to start. You can tell if it is the PC or the mouse but pressing the window key, if not frozen the start menu will pop up.

I'd just get a wireless laptop mouse. Bought both my kids the smaller size microsoft ones at WallyWorld for less than 25 bucks each. There a whole lot easier than that goofy touch pad anyway.

I tried that already. I did a google search and that seems to be the most popular problem when this happens but no such luck.

It jumps around some times also. Its been freezing up like every five minutes so I plugged in a USB mouse now and it will work fine with that.
