MNDNR Metro Catfish Meeting April 10

Catfish meeting in the basement of Obb's Sports Bar in St Paul (1347 Burns Ave) on Saturday, April 10 from 2-4 PM. Please RSVP to me at [email protected] as space is limited to 50 people. Free parking, mostly on adjacent streets.

Just to give people an idea of the topics at this meeting, I will be going over recent work in the East Metro Area (St Croix, Pool 2) from the last few years, catfish sampling and aging specifically. The catfish tagging project will be another topic in addition to the catfish diaries, covering goals, results to date, and future work. I will address any questions/concerns about the diaries, catfish topics, or other topics of concern to the best of my abilities. Some recent contaminant, Asian carp, and commercial fishing information will also be presented. Anyone that has diary information from last year that I do not have yet can drop it off at this meeting. I don't anticipate taking the full two hours with my material, but wanted to account for plenty of questions and discussion.

Lets just say I have met "The Mayor" their (ran into) a couple times. He hangs out their very often. Good chance he might be their after GL signs off (or Saturday sports wrap??). It is a Saturday and spring time is abound. Especially if it is a good riding day. wink~wink

The ruling states that the scramble can be had anytime afternoon on a Saturday.

Definitely interesting information though, even though I only fish the Minnesota (looking to expand this year) it's still good stuff.

Wish I could have been there, but meetings like that aren't conducive to 2 year olds. Tried watching part of the webcast but I couldn't hear anything and could barely make out the slides due to the crazy angle of the camera.
