Steve Foss
Honestly how does BC make everyone else look so slow? Most all teams have some speed in this day and age but those guys can fly. In college hockey, speed beats beef every single time, as long as the speed is speedy enough.
Bear55
No doubt speed kills but something tells me Jerry York has a secret recipe that all other college hockey coaches would love to get their hands on. If you look at the past 13 years I don't think there are any other schools that can compete with them. 3 National Championships4 2nd Place Finishes! They have played in over half the National Championship games in that time span! Then throw in 9 Frozen Four appearances, 4 Hockey East Titles, and another 7 Hockey East playoff titles and you have one he11 of a run. They even managed to have two bad years in that time span and missed the NCAA's altogether and still put up those crazy numbers.I still think the WCHA is the best college hockey on earth but wow BC has been very impressive. brmuskie
I don't think that those players were actually faster than everyone else. I know it looked like it but I saw BC play earlier this year and they were't the fastest team on the ice then. They did however play with a level of intensity that made everything around them look slower. I saw BSU play some games this year where they looked like that - too bad both of those games were before February. I wonder how much playing in the WCHA hurts teams - the grind of playing playoff hockey for 2 months at the end of the season has to take its toll on college players. Mentally and physically they have to be superior than their opponents for about 2 months straight to become national champions.
