gritsnham
How much would it cost to install power tilt and trim on a 50hp motor? Just wondering how hard this would be to rig up and what the part would run forThanks for the help!

marine_man
I'm not sure off hand how much it would cost.. the bigger trick would be finding one for it now.. it would likely have to come from a place like Tim's Outboard or Outboard Recyclers as I'm pretty sure they don't make units for those anymore.marine_man

gritsnham
Got an estimate of almost $800 dollars so im thinking there must be something cheaper out there....
marine_man
Perhaps, but understand that finding one is going to be your biggest challenge. Not sure where you checked, but I'd really be tempted to check into something used from a marine scrap yard, or something along those lines as it will be your cheapest fix.marine_man
Valv
You can use one of the CMC or Panther plates, usually they run around $ 500.Maybe a used one a little less.If you want to make it OEM style you have to find a similar donor motor, take the transom bracket off, install the T&T version and the whole T&T unit (motor, pump, etc). Then you have to get the relay box and install it inside the motor cowl. Then you need wiring to the remote or a remote with the handle switch and wiring. It is not a simple operation. I suggest looking into a CMC plate, they are very nice and work well. Google Cook Manufacturing or CMC plates

Northlander
Heck for $800 I would buy a newer used motor with T&T on it.
