Power tilt trim

How much would it cost to install power tilt and trim on a 50hp motor? Just wondering how hard this would be to rig up and what the part would run for

I'm not sure off hand how much it would cost.. the bigger trick would be finding one for it now.. it would likely have to come from a place like Tim's Outboard or Outboard Recyclers as I'm pretty sure they don't make units for those anymore.

Got an estimate of almost $800 dollars so im thinking there must be something cheaper out there....

Perhaps, but understand that finding one is going to be your biggest challenge.

Not sure where you checked, but I'd really be tempted to check into something used from a marine scrap yard, or something along those lines as it will be your cheapest fix.

You can use one of the CMC or Panther plates, usually they run around $ 500.

Maybe a used one a little less.

If you want to make it OEM style you have to find a similar donor motor, take the transom bracket off, install the T&T version and the whole T&T unit (motor, pump, etc). Then you have to get the relay box and install it inside the motor cowl. Then you need wiring to the remote or a remote with the handle switch and wiring.

It is not a simple operation. I suggest looking into a CMC plate, they are very nice and work well. Google Cook Manufacturing or CMC plates

Heck for $800 I would buy a newer used motor with T&T on it.
