some deer...some birds..

The deer have spread back out and easy shots are no longer as easy to come by but while they were I had fun with it

but these guys are always around

and more of these guys are showing up

and this guy (barred I believe) is a first for me. I am fairly sure my cat had a run in with this owl or an owl anyway. Cat has some nasty holes in his shoulder that seem to large and deep to be from another cat. I do not know how things played out, just a guess, but going by the blood in the snow and blood that was under my snowmobile and the remains of a rabbit I am kind of thinking the owl came in to take the rabbit from the cat. Or maybe the other way around. In this picture the owl had just made a short flight from off the ground and dropped the remains of a cotton tail. It went up on this branch and was lookin down at it. The owl did not seem to be to conserned by me BUT neighbors dog was and the owl did not seem to care for that noise. I was thinking I was going to get a few good shots for a minute but this is all I got.

Since then I made a fur hat for the cat, rabbit fur that is, and a small camera mounted on him as well, slapped in on the rear and told him to take care. I will get to the bottom of this story.

P.E.T.A. Thats funny. I was just telling captainshane I found a food stash from a mouse tonight consisting of cat food. Feet from the nice, insulated, cozy, soft bed I made for the TWO cats. If only had a rabbit problem the cats would be doing thier job. Well my apple tree says I do. Maybe the rabbits feet left under my boat will bring me good luck on the water this year.

Shawn the lighting or I should say shadows is as shot on the first one. I had thought about adding some highlight to the eye to make it stand out a bit more but the program I would use is out of service at this time. And I kind of expect I may not get the results I would want anyhow.
