Was on Waconia at 12:01. Tossing raps at the north side of the island found 2 14 inchers around 3:00. Tried slip bobbering with leeches and chubs with no luck too. Looking forward to hearing some success stories! So, how'd you do??

Went out to Sabre Lake and only caught bullheads all night with jigs and minnows...was fishing off of shore and a group of guys came over with waders and walked right across my line and stood right in front of me so I couldnt cast!!!They had no respect whatsoever and stayed there for about two hours...I eventually casted right over them and snagged one in the waders lol...they were really big jerks about it too...this is the bad thing about opener...people like this who have no respect for other people!

I gave the MN river a try.
Day one sucked!Only one eye but I did get into some white bass.
Day two...Yahoo.I only fished for a couple hours and managed to get a nice limit of walleye from 20" to 26".

Saturday, Hook/Swan, 9 boats, 2 bullheads and 2 crappies. Several hits but no takers.

Sunday, Greenleaf/Erie, marked all kinds of fish but nothing would bite.

We did'nt get alot of fish, but we did get a few nice ones to 28 inches this evening in that shallow water. Yesterday they were deeper in about 8 feet. I did'nt see alot of fish caught but I saw alot of big ones both days. Nice weather too.

LARGEST BEING 4 1/2 LBS AND THE SMALLEST BEING 1 1/4 LBS. ALL IN LL WE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND. THIS IS NOT ALL THE FISH WE COUGHT, WE COUGHT A TON OF NORTS AND OTHER FISH TO BOOT. My crew boated about 200 Crappies this weekend, from depths of 35 feet to 3 feet of water. Fish ran up to 13".

C&R was the key.

I opened on Winnie for the 29th year. Saturday was a little slow but managed 20 walleye over a 12 hour period. The rain started at around 1 PM and didn't quit until around 8:00 PM.

Lindy rigged for a while with little success. Went to a Northland 1/8 oz. fireball in a firetiger pattern and shiner and hold on. I did speed it up and rip jig for them. This made all the difference in the world.

Sunday I had a nice limit of 15 to 16 3/4 L eyes in 4 1/2 hours with several throw backs in the 18 to 26" range. 6-9 feet along High Banks.
The total for the weekend was 62 eye's using this pattern.

Also, caught a couple dozen perch that actually measured 11 to 12+ inches. It's nice to see some large perch again.

Of course what what a weekend of fishing be like with out the pike cutting off jigs, trying to tie on another and your fingers are so numb you can't hold on to the line.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
