bigeyes
I recently got a used lund that has lots of scum on it. Is the vineger safe to use for the alumanum/paint? Any other suggestions?
wastewaterguru
I just use a scrub-free shower cleaner (can't remember the name) usually spray it on and walk away for 20 minutes and rinse it off. Then wipe down and continue with the wash/wax job.------------------John K., a.k.a. wastewaterguruPrior Lake, Minnesota
fishinphyl
Hey Bigeyes. I am going to say it again. Be really careful with shower cleaners - some are really strong - be sure to rinse, rinse and rinse again. There is a product which we use on our aluminum horse trailer. I think this would work very well for you. We purchase it at the car stores. We have paint and decals on our trailer and it does not hurt them at all. ------------------Phyl
Guest
I use The Works Rust Lime and Calcium Remover at half strenght mixed in a spray bottle. It comes in a 32 oz green jug.Spray an area and wipe off with a wet sponge. Wear protective gloves. Give the boat a rinse with a hose when done. This gets Devils Lake stuff off. Believe me there is no lake that has more dissolved solids than here and puts more of a white film on your rig.Costs about 4 bucks for a jug. I can get four washes out of one. I have a 19 foot Warrior.------------------Kevin Neve's Devils Lake Guide Servicefishingminnesota.com/kevin-neve-guiding/e-mail: [email protected]Phone: 701-473-5411 or 701-351-4989Minnewaukan ND

musky hunter
I had the same problem, some real tough scum from 3 days of fishing on the Fox river. I went to Maring General in Duluth and bought a bottle of Zing for $10. It's hydrochloric acid based and did it work well. Scum gone in 15 minutes and boat looks good. It's not the cheapest, but it's made for boats.

Valv
The Works is the best. I have 7 boats and neve had a problem (except for fumes and smell) with both fiberglass and aluminum. Spray it on, rinse it off after 5 minutes with water hose. BE do you think they will geive us an endorsement for this product ? Val
