MAC EMAIL

I would like to set up my Email using the Mac Mail that is on the Mac when you get it, but i can not get it to work with my Yahoo or Hotmail account... HELP?? From what i have seen online is that i will have to pay to upgrade my Yahoo account to use it. That is stupid!!!

Yahoo mail is pretty much strictly a web based email account. You can't connect to it with a client like Mac Mail or Outlook. To download email into those clients you need something like a POP or exchange type of account.

You can if you upgrade to the Yahoo Plus for $19.95 a year, otherwise use gmail.

Hotmail wont work either. If I'm not mistaken, you could switch to gmail and have your emails forwarded to gmail.

That is why the call this stuff "web mail" designed to just be a used in a web browser. And to top it off, it is free.

We have to remember that beggers can't be choosers. There is a lot of freeware and free services on the internet but the buck stops there. When we choose to use these free packages we are pretty much stuck with what it is. If we want the better option, we have to pay for it.

Actually, this stuff is not totally free, really. We pay for it one way or another and most likely through advertising dollars when we buy consumer goods.
