Snow pile on septic drainfield?!?!

I put this in home improvement too, but maybe it should go here?!?...

I am wondering how bad of a situation I have as my snowpiles are huge and I had no choice but to put one right on the drainfield and another just off the end of it. Is it going to be way too much moisture there when all this darn snow finally melts?! Do I need to think about trying to move some of this snow (not sure if I have a place to put it anyway, but I could try...).

I think I can understand lawdog's question though. There's a good chance the septic drain field may not be frozen. The activity from the bacteria generates heat and that is why septic systems don't freeze up in winter except under the harshest conditions.

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with this problem so I can't offer any concrete advise. Your drain field can only handle so much liquid over a period of time. You might have a valid consideration.
