Pulling 13,000 GVWR/36'

Looking at getting a new 5th Wheel (Keystone Laredo). Wondering if there is anyone pulling this size with a "gaser" and what your opinions are? I have pulled a 11,600 GVWR/34' with a gooseneck adapter two times last year. You knew it was behind you but it wasn't too bad. I'm pulling with a 01 2500HD Crew with a 6.0L.

That seems like a lot of trailer for a 6.0

Bottom line is, it's all about the numbers so do the math. What's the tow rating for the truck, what's the weight loaded, truck and trailer. Figure out the limits and the load and you will get your answer. And leave some margin for error.

No way! If your truck is a 2500 4wd 6.0 with a 3:42 gear it's rated to pull 8300# if it has a 3:73 gear it's rated at 10,300#.

According to the Keystone HSOforum this trailer has a 1805# hitch weight. That's always figured with the trailer empty. In real life with full propane tanks, batteries and some gear it will be in the 2,200# range. Now add in your passengers, fuel in your truck and so on..Then look at the total gross weight allowed in your owners manual. You're really into 1 ton dually territory. Sure the dealer will probably say you can tow it. He needs the sale.
