Tikka T3 Lite

Recommended Posts

Wondering about getting this for the girlfriend... Anyone have any comments? Had her shoulder up about 30 guns and she liked this one and a Sakko...so trying to save a little money talking her into like the Tikka. Looking at a Stainless with Synthetic stock in a 25-06. Dad reloads so taking it this would be a good round. Little bit bigger then a 243 but not a 30-06.

Code-man,

I moved it here so you could maybe get some more experienced input.

I myself am considering a Tikka T3 in .243 for our youngest daughter with the thought that I might use it a time or two also.

It seems like a great gun for the $ and I've heard nothing but good about them.

Let her pick the one she likes. smile

I just won a Tikka 243 stainless steel barrel synthetic stock in a raffle. I haven't shot it yet but it seems like a good gun. I notice alot of the parts are plastic like the clip the bolt release trigger and trigger guard. Its supposly really accurrate. Not that I have an accurrate shot anyway. Alot of people that have this rifle really like them. I don't think you could go wrong with it for the price. I've also been told to stay away from the wood stock on this rifle it doesn't take much abuse. Goodluck in your decision.

just got the future father in law one. got the synthetic stainless in a .300 win mag. also put on a 3x9x40 nikon buckmasters scope. nice looking rig for the money. the fiance has a sako finnlite. now thats a fine rig with a leupold scope. however, the gun alone was 1400 bucks, so it better be a nice one!!

Tikka is owned by Sako and they are imported to the us by Breatta, At least that is what I understand.

But I have a t3 in 308 stainless and synthetic. My brother has a synthetic in blue and brother in-law has a wood stock in blue, they have had theres for many years, I have just bought mine last year for bear season, set it up with a leupold scope, shoots very nice.

Hope you have fun with your gun.

We ended up putting a 4.5x14x44 scope I believe were the numbers. It was a Scheels Brand and seems to do the job. We are currently in the process of trying to find a load to make up for it. I really wanted her to use a Balistic Tip so I tried the 115 grain Nosler BT and Silvertip bullets. Tried 6 loads (3 each tip, 5/load) and none of them grouped good enough for me to load any more. Dad had some 120 Spear bullets and we loaded them up and WOW!!!!!!!! Not the biggest fan of the spear tip and it being 120 grain but if those loads stay tight out further that's all that's important!

I am open to any favorite hand loads anyone may have or suggest!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
