Warn winch problems!

I was plowing a little bit tonight and right before I finished up, my winch started acting up. I am able to raise the plow but as soon as I let the winch out, nothing. I haven't really looked at it too much yet, but I know the spool isn't seized as I can still free spool. It will lower the plow if I hold the switch and put weight on the plow, but it is really slow and I need to put a lot of weight to even move it. I am hoping it is just my switch, but wondering if anyone has had any issues or an ideas?

May be the cable is wound a little sloppy and binding. I had a problem earleier this year but mine would not go up it got a loop of cable around the motor let it run out to much.

I thought this was the problem at first, but it free spools out just fine.

Sounds like your contactor is shot to me. That or your switch itself.

I had the cylinoid go out on my 5 year old warn this year. I had in but no out. It's a $90 part though!

I disconnected power from it and everything works fine now! I hope that it was just a fluke, but only time will tell. Thanks for the input.
