Anyone else get one of these? They are a neat unit, but anyone know how to get the smell out? It reaks!!

Like I said, nice unit, but it stinks. I am afraid to put tackle in it and get that smell into the lures.

What is it, a plastic/poly kind of stink? You could probably try washing it with dish-soap and water, let it soak for a bit, rinse thoroughly. It might just be a carry-over from when it was manufactured.

How tight are the lids to the containers? I was thinking of getting one but was just nervous about all the stuff I put in there coming out when I take it off to access what is in the bucket 15 times a day.

put a scoop of coffee grounds in it for a few days. I've heard that will take the stink out of alot of things. then just dump the coffee out again. use fresh grounds though..

Very tight, I wouldn't worry about anything falling out.

I picked one up at the beginning of this season. I haven't noticed any "stink", but I haven't thought of smelling it either. In response to the tightness of the lids, they are almost too tight and very hard to pull off. Well worth the cheap price (I think I paid around $7 for it). They have a lot more storage in it than you think. I have mine on the bucket in my bucket holder and drive quite a ways on the wheeler and never worry about it falling off. I think it is almost impossible to happen. Great product!

Charcoal briquettes will absorb odors, also baking soda.

I wouldn't. I don't think there is enough of a lip, the bucket would buckle and it would fall in

Frabill makes a sit-n-stow that is kinda similar, designed to be sat on too.

What I don't like about the Frabill is it only takes up half the circumference of a bucket. I don't bucket sit, anyway, so I wanted the room.
