Edge Evolution Programmer

Recommended Posts

I agree 100% with 4WI's post.

On a diesel they are a great bang for the buck. Edge programs are ok.

As far as putting a program in a gas job you will be lucky to see any diference. The people I know who tried that with a gas motor took the tune out because they wanted to return it for a refund.

Diesels react to computer modifications way better than gas.

Let me clarify a little bit on my post about programmers in gas engines. On engines with variable cam timing, and electronic throttle control, they are claiming a 25% increase in HP, and torque. My personal opinion really doesnt change though from my original post of, in a gas engine it isnt worth wasting your money!

Its hard to say what you can expect from it. IMO it depends on what you want to do.

If you want more power you will get more. Its tough to say if your buttt dyno will be able to feel it but it will be there. I do say with a couple of supporting mods you will get the most benefits from it and be able to feel a difference.

If economy is your goal it can help, a little. The problem is that it would be more cost-effective trying hyper-miler driving than anything. If you are easy on the throttle and don't drive aggressively you could get 10-20% better mileage without paying a cent.

A lot of times people buy those things and they feel a little more power so they always stand on the throttle. Then they loose mileage and wonder why the mileage actually went down. That has been a big problem from what I have seen selling them.
