Newspaper reports say a 58 year old man from Rochester went thru the ice and died on Sodus Bay yesterday. Condolences to his family and friends.

Strangely, the newspaper account states that he was only 100 feet from shore. Sounds like there has to be more to the story but in any event, a sad reminder of the danger inherent in our winter pastime and the absolute need to fish with a buddy. Be careful out there guys.
