Catching catfish in winter?

Fishing on a wingdam today, marking lots of fish, decided to reel up and switch lures after not catching anything and belly snagged a channel. Released the fish thought was a fluke but it happened a while later. Will these guys bite on anything I'd like to keep a couple any suggestions??

like brdhunter01 said check out the st cloud forum. there is a ton of info on how to catch channel cats thru the ice. also if you are intrerested there is a get together called "cool cats" it is held on horseshoe lake up by richmond. it is part of the sauk river chain of lakes. the info on this will be in the same forum or the get together forum. I plan to go this year it sounds like a fun time.

Often a plain ball type glow jig and a shiner head or Fathead head will work for Cats. They can be fussy, or hard hitting just like walleye.

Dead sour Waxworms on a smaller jig can convince sniffers to bite as well. wink

Electronics is very helpful, and a sensitive tip rod with a good bit of backbone when you hook-up.
