Garmin Oregon and Lakemaster Software

Recommended Posts

The complete Download from garmin CD-Rom will take up 120 MB of intern hard drive memory on your GPS. I have an email from garmin that has some useful info and I'll try to post it later or you can search Garmin lakemaster on these threads as I only posted it a few weeks ago. If you can take a chip I'd go that way but I have the Dakota 10 and can only take garmin site downloads or CD-ROM downloads...Garmin Tech support does not recommend Garmin site downloads if you can use other forms of maps (ie.. CD-ROM or Chips/cards). Also, Garmin CD comes with basemap software so you can edit/view maps on your computer and make routes and do all sort of fun things....

I have the Lakemaster PC software on my laptop and I find it very useful for planning trips and strategizing about what spots to explore. It has been very accurate in my area and I would recommend it even if you have a handheld GPS with the chip.
