I bought the FL 20 50th eddition vex this weekend. I was checking everything over to make sure I understand how to operate it right & learn how I should operate it in the different modes.
Somebody please chime in here to help me understand the LP mode.
Since the Flasher has a LP mode for 20' of water or less, it looks like LP mode should be used when fishing shallow water basicly anything 20' or less. Now there is also a non LP mode for 20' of water. When does one use the LP mode and when should one use the normal power mode on the sonar if fishing in 20' of water or less? I'm guessing that jig size, and deberis in the water would dictate the setting you'd use, and you'd pick the LP/non LP mode based on the target line seperation and clarity of the flasher lines.
The other was the Dual Cone. I'm guessing that the Narrow cone is used for fishing in a shack with someone else so you don't pick up there jig on you're screen, or when fishing in deeper water so that your not covering too large an area on the bottom. The wide cone would be for fishing in shallower water when by yourself, so that the footprint you're showing on the bottom is of decent size.
So, am I on the right track understanding these things or not?

Wasn't terrible at a state park beach. Antelope island maybe. I wouldn't recommend it as a beach destination tho. Figured I was there, I'm getting in it.
The water looked and smelled disgusting with hundreds of thousands of birds sh*tting in there. About as gross as the Salton Sea. When I duck hunted there I didn't even want to touch the water.
It's kinda gross with the algae in the summer but I got in it anyway. Wanted to see the increased bouyancy at work. You can kinda tuck yourself into a ball and you'll just float with your head above water. When dry off you look diamond encrusted with the salt.
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
