dayton_1313
Hey all. I am heading up to DL this coming Friday - Sunday for a hockey tourney and was planning on doing as much fishing as possible. Never fished DL before and was looking to rent a perm on Friday and fish out of my portable Sat and Sun. If anyone can point me in the right direction on where to rent a house or just a general direction on the closest place to get on the lake near the town of DL would be awesome. riverview
The casino or woodlands should have a house to rent.
dayton_1313
Thanks, had a couple people back out so will pry just fish out of our portables... Is the casino where most people get on the lake or is there a place closer to the town of Devils Lake to get on?
vexi
You can access the lake at the casino but you will pretty limited to fishing just around the casino. They have a plowed road that loops around out in front and thats it. I was there last weekend and did alright for eyes, alot of small ones though. 20 to 26 fow. marine_man
Be sure you're watching the weather this weekend... sounds like a storm is headed this way and things could get dicey... especially with high winds on Sunday.marine_man
dayton_1313
Thanks Vexi, would you recommend going out off another access? Yah the weather looks like it could cause some problems for sure, let’s hope it doesn't get as bad as they say...
kobear
Either woodland resort or Lakewood access. Both are close to town and access Creel Bay which has good walleye fishing in the trees, at the back of the bay along the rip rapped levee, along certain breaks, and has rocky deep points and humps at the bay mouth should keep you busy. pikerliker
If you want to use the woodland or lakewood access do you need to pay a fee if your not staying there? Thanks ~piker

iffwalleyes
Ya well 7 buck has always been worth it to me as long as the road is good. That is kind of the going rate for lots of resorts.
riverview
Yes the last time i was at petes a few people were complaining about the 7.00. For years i fished low and allways paid. if the road is good it is more than worth it. I havent been to dl in a couple weeks, Heading out on friday and i am hopeing the fish are a little more hungry than last time.
