0 icehousebob
My first FL8 did have a fish alarm. You could adjust it to any depth and it would alarm if any fish came through between that depth and the surface. It wasn't that useful, which is why it was discontinued in later models. I tried it a few times and ignored its existance for the rest of the time I owned that unit.
0 Jim Almquist
That feature was also on the Hydex FL8 before it became Vexilar. It was a good thing to have in the summer for a warning that it was getting to shallow but other then that it was pretty worthless to me. The name of the first depth finders before they became vexilar I belive was Hondex my buddy had one and that was the reason I purchased a vexilar a year or two later and that old fl8 has the fish alarm but doesnt work any more. the flasher works great but the fish alarm stopped working years ago. 0 Jim Almquist
elwood Thanks for the spelling correction. I finally sold it last year and could not remember the exact spelling. The thing still worked great.
0 cold one sd
I had a Micronar FL8 for a lot of years and it had the depth alarm on it. I gave it to my son when I bought a newer model. I was fishing with him yester day and the fish alarm as I called it is still working. This flasher has never given us one minute of trouble.
